Hello. About me then. I have no idea where the book obsession came from. I'm not really from a reading family. I barely go a week without acquiring a book or two and I don't ever care that I ran out of shelf space years ago. I turned one of the spare bedrooms in my house into a Library and therefore achieved my 'ever since I saw Beauty & the Beast' life's ambition.

So how did I get here? Well first off I wanted to be a dinosaur, then an FBI agent- but then I ended up doing a bunch of degrees and now I'm a librarian. Which isn't really very much like either of the above.

I'm a former member, now organiser of the Broadway Book Club, It's Broadway cinema (cinematic envy of the country) on the last Thursday of the month, if any of you Nottingham people fancy it.
If you'd like to be lovely and send me something to review, you can find me on Twitter @LeanneWain or at leannevwain[at]gmail[dot]com and I will be as honest as I am able. I don't e-read though I'm afraid!
Other skills include: Mastery of flat-pack furniture assembly, being a dab hand with a crossbow and the ability to remain stationary for periods of time only common to the Sloth population.
I am a new author self publishing on Amazon but please don't let that scare you off. Tales from the Rift is a comic SF novel where a human and seven aliens hold a ghost story telling contest. I think you'll enjoy this.

Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI’ve written this incredible book that you just must know about titled The Super Twins which I will be self-publishing in mid-July. This began last August as a pipe dream and as time went on this has developed into a reality. The book is aimed at Middle Grade readers of 9 – 12 and focuses on the journey of identical twins Ryan and Jake who develop superpowers and wind up in a struggle to defend the sleepy town of Trincaster from evil forces.
The book was inspired by my very own identical twins Luke and Liam who couldn’t be more pleased to see their Dad become an author and self-publish a book. As a single father it’s been a struggle to get to this stage with the novel but is something I’m incredibly proud of. Despite the trials and tribulations of lock-down, it has been a huge opportunity for me to finish the writing, source illustrations, design a front cover and try and promote it myself (whilst home-schooling to the best of my ability).
My aim is simple to engage, inspire and entertain children. If I can motivate one child to pick up a pen or pencil and write, then I’ve been successful in my endeavours. I can’t do this without your help though! Will you please include me in your blog, accept free bookmarks, colouring sheets and a free copy of my book for you?
Kind regards
Andy Slinger
